The photo acoustic effect in endodontics
The age old problem of the ductal system disinfection is still on the table. The colonization of the root canal system is not without negligible effects, both in terms of its well-known induced diseases than immediate tissue destruction osseous and periodontal.

Today, we note the multiplication of scientific articles describing the activation of the irrigation solutions by the use of an Erbium YAG laser. Currently users of this technology find fewer postoperative pains and they practice less surgery. Indeed, after classical instrumentation and irrigation they note the absence of ductal debris raised by the conventional techniques. Then if they use Erbium YAG laser to activate the irrigants, then new debris appear in the solutions. How can we explain this phenomenon?

Long decried and controversy, the laser gradually takes its place in endodontics, and especially the Erbium EAG which meets the requirements and objectives of irrigation, endodontic disinfection, root canal system, isthmus and dentinal tubules.

There is nothing more frustrating in endodontics than the cleaning and disinfection protocols, and finally having a tooth that does not react to our treatment.an asymptomatic tooth becomes painful, or the pathology does not disappear, etc. Why, what about it, why it did not worked out?

One of the challenges of endodontics is to destroy as much as possible the bacterial load. One of the means used is the irrigation, which has been attempted to be activated by different techniques. Today, the miniaturization of the tips and the maneuverability of the Erbium:YAG laser handpiece allow the channel to access the blind spots.

The Erbium:YAG laser (Er:YAG) is now the laser with the most indications in omnipractic. Its wavelength of 2.940 nanometers is located on one of the absorption peaks of water and hydroxyapatite. It can be described as an infrared laser with low thermal propagation therefore little penetrating, if used under water spray of course. The point of interaction with the target tissue is via the water molecule, which considerably reduces the thermal effect.

In endodontics, the root treatments as well as the retreatment are perfectly protocol. A well-conducted therapy has a success rate between 70% and 90%. We can improve our disinfection thanks to a size ally: the Erbium:YAG laser. Explanations.
